LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – After more than 60 years of providing dental care in LaFollette, Dr. Gerald A. Troutman (photo above) will retire.  His long-time dental hygienist Alisha Brady will continue to provide patients with cleaning service at two area locations.

“It has been an honor to serve my hometown community,” Troutman said. “I’ll miss many aspects of my career, but none more that the wonderful patients and families I’ve come to know.”

While the dental office served its last patient at 108 East Beech Street on Sept. 29, patients have a couple of options for continuing dental care. Brady has joined the dental offices of Dr. Sonia Kherani (in Jacksboro and Clinton), who is assuming the care of Troutman’s patients. Kherani, a board-certified dentist skilled in all aspects of dentistry, has been serving Campbell and Anderson County-area patients for several years.

Troutman’s long-time dental hygienist Alisha Brady will continue to provide patients with cleaning service at two area locations.

Kherani completed her dental residency at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, after earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree at Meharry Medical College in Nashville.  She has been in private practice for over a decade and offers a full range of dental services, including implant and cosmetic dentistry.

Brady joins Dr. Kherani’s dental staff which operates in two convenient locations:

  • In Anderson County / Clinton at Appalachia Family Dentistry, PLLC, 865 494-5274, 1685 Anderson Hwy., Off I-75 at Clinton/Norris Exit (#122); connect HERE
  • In Campbell County / Jacksboro at Community Family Dentistry, PLLC, 423 562-9459, 116 E. Cumberland Ln # 1, Near Charlie’s Pizza; connect HERE

At both locations, Kherani provides “smile maintenance” along with the other dentist on the team — Dr. Elisabeth Belter.  Dr. Belter, a native of Knoxville, earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) at UT’s College of Dentistry.  Previously, she completed her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from ETSU.

Troutman, a graduate of UT’s College of Dentistry, recognized the value of his patients: “I am so thankful for my patients’ loyalty throughout the years, and I‘ll take the memories of all I have experienced with me into retirement.”

PUBLISHER’S NOTE: Congratulations on a career well done, Dr. Troutman. It only seems like yesterday you opened your new, modern office on East Beech Street about five years after my father Dr. James Freeman opened his clinic over on East Central Avenue. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/30/2021-6AM)
