JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Cory Overton was a wanted man, and Campbell County Deputies seized the opportunity to get their man even if it was in the next county over.

Late last Tuesday night, Campbell County Sheriff’s Lt. Travis Bostic notified Deputy Shayne Wilburn Overton was parked at the Pilot Gas Station at Rocky Top and had walked inside. Wilburn, who had a warrant for Overton’s arrest, responded to the scene and found Overton inside the Pilot.

According to the arrest report from the CCSO, Overton, who is unemployed, of Hatmaker Ridge Road, Jacksboro, was wanted for a third violation of probation out of criminal court. His charges are for the sale of a schedule II controlled substance, delivery of a schedule II controlled substance, criminal conspiracy to sell schedule II.

Wilburn handcuffed the 44-year- old Overton, double-locked, and transported him to the Campbell County Jail. The Pilot is less than a mile from the Campbell County line.

Overton, who remains housed in the county jail without bond, is scheduled to appear before Criminal Court Judge Shayne Sexton at 8:30am.
