Mrs. Mary Alice McGhee, age 89 of LaFollette, passed away Wednesday evening, October 6, 2021, at her residence. She was born on April 19, 1932, in Decalb County, Alabama, a daughter of the late Wesley Blane and Ida May Hickman. She was a member of Lake View Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, ginseng hunting, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa McGhee; great grandchild, Conner Lane; daughter-in-law, Debbie McGhee; brothers, Robert Columbus Hickman, and August Cleveland Hickman; sisters Lola King and Ruth Stalter.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, George McGhee; five sons, Ronnie Lee McGhee, Rickey George McGhee, Robert Ray McGhee, Ronald Wayne McGhee, and Vernon Wade McGhee; daughters-in-law, Lorene McGhee, Angie McClure, Sheila McGhee, and Eunice McGhee; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 8, 2021, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Hobart McCreary officiating. The family will meet at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Cumberland View Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment. Mary’s family will serve as pallbearers.
