JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County High School Pep Club made a $500 check presentation to the Campbell County Cancer Association Friday night before the start of the football game.

Campbell Head Football Coach Justin Price, Campbell Cancer Association Director Clarence Lowe and Campbell High Principal Ben Foust.

Campbell County High School Principal Ben Foust presented the check to Cancer Association Director Clarence Lowe.

The Pep Club raised the funds by selling pink ribbons and CCHS staff purchased pink “breast cancer awareness” shirts with cougar paws on them.

According to CCHS teacher and pep club organizer Josh Parker Parker, the pep club wanted to do something in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month.

“We also wanted to do something for the Cancer Association in honor of our coach Justin Price’s son Jack Price and for one of our retired teachers who is a cancer survivor,” Parker said.

Lowe said the Cancer Association was “thankful”for the donation.

“It’s just wonderful that young people want to help with this. We’ve been doing this for 35 years. We have so many affected by Cancer right here in Campbell County, and for the kids to raise funds for this is amazing,” Lowe said.

He extended a “big thank you” to all members of the pep club, to Josh Parker and everyone involved in the fundraising.

All funds donated to the Campbell County Cancer Association stay within the county and go to help locals suffering from Cancer.
