Wlaf1450Michael David Westbrook, age 80, of Jacksboro passed this worldly life Friday, November 5, 2021. He was born September 20, 1941, to the late Fredrich J. and Mary Jane Steele Westbrook of Altoona, Pennsylvania, Blair Co. Mike met his wife Jane Wood Westbrook of Jacksboro, TN, where they were attending East Tennessee State University. Mike was a graduate of Altoona High School where he played football. After high school he attended Catawba College in North Carolina. Later, Mike transferred to ETSU, where he played football and was also in the ROTC program. He received his 2nd lieutenant commission and graduated receiving a BS and MBA Degree. Mike served in the U.S. Army stationed at Colorado Springs, Colorado, and in Korea at the DMZ area during the Vietnam War.
Mike was preceded in death by parents, grandmother Susie Steele, favorite uncle Jerry Steele, all of Altoona, PA. Also preceded in death his mother and father-in-law Meather O. and Ola B. Wood, brother and sister-in-law Dr. Burgin H. and Virginia J. Wood. Mike is survived by his wife Jane and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet at 1 PM Thursday Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Jacksboro Cemetery for 2 PM Graveside Service and Interment, Rev. Keith Hampton officiating with Military Honors given by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Cross-Smith Funeral Home.
