Mrs. Sadie Collier Tipton, age 90, of LaFollette passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021.  Sadie resided at NHC Place, Farragut, since December, 2016.  She was a member of LaFollette United Methodist Church.  Sadie worked for and retired from South Central Bell. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America.  After six months of retirement, she decided she was happier working.  She then began to work for First Bank of East Tennessee and then Community Health of East Tennessee.  Sadie was an avid knitter and enjoyed other crafts as well.  She loved family and was most happy when they visited, especially if it included children.  Sadie’s nieces and nephews have wonderful memories of their times spent with her and her husband, Jay.

Sadie is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James “Jay” Tipton, by parents: Robert and Tina Poteet Collier, sisters: Janet Jordan and an infant sister, brothers: Harold, Jim, Charles and Robert Collier.

Survivors are nieces and nephew: Jann (Jerry) Barber, Linda Clark, Gary (Cecilia) Collier, Leesa Haber, Shellie Kowalke, and Nancy (Gary) Schmitz.  Several generations of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Lee Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pennington Gap, VA with Brother David Shepherd officiating.  In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to LaFollette United Methodist Church,808 East Central Avenue, LaFollette, TN 37766 or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
