LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – In a late Monday afternoon release from City of La Follette Administrator Stan Foust, it was stated that Vice-Mayor Phillip Farmer will assume the duties of Mayor. Farmer will be sworn in prior to the regular scheduled council meeting on the afternoon of Tue., Dec. 7, at 5:30pm.

Foust details that on Mon., the City of La Follette received a court order from the Campbell County Court system ordering the immediate ouster from office of La Follette Mayor Mike Stanfield. Related story and copy of petition of ouster.

With the state’s investigation complete and the court order executed, Foust notes that the City of La Follette will move forward in a positive way with city services continuing as scheduled.

Foust closes the release by adding that “with regard to Mayor Stanfield, the City recognizes his services to the community throughout his tenure as council member and mayor of La Follette.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/23/2021-6AM)
