A Chevy pick-up truck fell on a man at a home in the 800 block of Cherry Street, behind the Calvary Baptist Church (on West Beech Street).

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The report of a vehicle falling on a 72-year old man while working on it came in to Central Dispatch just after 2:30pm Tuesday afternoon.

Units with the La Follette Fire and Police Departments along with the Campbell County EMS responded to the accident.

The patient was transported from the scene, the 800 block of Cherry Street, to the La Follette Medical Center Helipad on North Massachusetts Avenue where a medical helicopter flew him on to a Knoxville hospital. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/30/2021-3PM-UPDATED – 11/30/2021-3:45PM)

  1. Hope this gentleman is OK!? A similar incident happened to my fiancé, who is in his mid 40’s, less than a month ago. Luckily, his grandfather had taught him to always put your spare or any tire, under the car as well, on case the jack fails (which is exactly what happened). Doing that actually saved his life & he came out with only a few minor injuries (bruises, scratches). He had went to the ER just to be sure no bones were broken or no internal bleeding, etc, & even the doctors & nurses were telling him how lucky he was & how smart it was of him to place the tire under the car, so that the car wouldn’t fall on him completely. With this gentleman being older, I’m sure his bones & everything are more fragile. So I’m praying he’s ok.
