LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County Sheriff’s Drug Unit strikes again. A three month investigation led to the execution of a narcotics search warrant on Tuesday at an apartment on Old Middlesboro Highway at Bethlehem Road.

According to sheriff’s officials, undercover drug buys were the focal point of the investigation leading to the arrests of 27-year old Kahla Marie Jones of Old Middlesboro Hwy in La Follette and 47-year old Michael Roger Cote who lists a Jacksboro address on Countryside Circle.

During Tuesday’s search of the apartment, that sits less than a mile from Valley View School, deputies found methamphetamine, Subxone and drug paraphernalia.  Jones and Cote were arrested on multiple charges.

Jones faces charges of possession of schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia along with a capias/bench warrant for failing to appear in General Sessions Court.

Kahla Jones is being held in the Campbell County Jail without bond based on jail records.

Charges levied against Cote include possession of schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Roger Cote is free on bond.
The investigation that resulted in two arrests on Tuesday inside this apartment lasted three months.

Both Jones and Cote are due in court on Jan. 11.

The pair will likely face further charges when the undercover drug purchases are presented to the Campbell County Grand Jury at the conclusion of the investigation.
