Russell Tower takes a hit Friday morning.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Downtown La Follette continues to have vehicles hit buildings. This time, it’s the Russell Tower. In 2020 alone, WLAF covered 10 accidents where vehicles either rammed a building or damaged property in La Follette and Jacksboro.

A car rammed into the corner on the East Central side of Russell Tower in the wee hours (2am) of Friday morning. “I am just so thankful that on one was injured,” said John Snodderly, Executive Director of the La Follette Housing Authority. Russell Tower is one of the LHA properties.

The yellow tape indicates where the car ran off the road and struck Russell Tower.

A relieved Snodderly added, “We’ll replace the brick and repair the building.” Assessments on just what needs to be repaired begin today.

There were no injuries in this Friday morning crash.

    1. Maybe they need to lower the speed limit back to 30mph and enforce it. 40 mph is way to fast driving though downtown area.
