LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A building on South Hwy 25W, across from the old Brooks Spradlin Coal Yard, was broken into twice between Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. Campbell County Sheriff’s Detective-Captain John Long investigated the burglary where a miter saw, floor jack, exhaust pipes and Forstner drill bit were stolen.

The property owner had video of the perpetrators that allegedly clearly identified Larry Wayne Hatmaker, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Long met with Hatmaker and interviewed him about the incident. During the interview, Hatmaker allegedly admitted to breaking into the building and stealing a floor jack which he brought with him to the interview.

Hatmaker reported that he and another person, his cousin, entered the building on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. He continued that he had taken the floor jack and was going to sell it for drugs. He also stated that his cousin had stolen the miter saw, but he didn’t know what happened to the other items that were stolen.

Larry Wayne Hatmaker, 38, 328 Query Drive, Jacksboro was charged with burglary and theft of property over $1,000. Based on jail records, Hatmaker, unemployed, was arrested for the 15th time.
