Vershel Wilson age 86 of Caryville, TN went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 31, 2021. Born January 26, 1935 in Whitesburg, Kentucky to the late Bertha Jane Marlow and Luther Wilson. Vershel was a member of Little Cove Creek Baptist Church in Caryville. Vershel enjoyed going to church, he loved the Lord, and spending time with his family. He was a retired coal miner, he loved to work and to help others.

In addition to his parents, Vershel was preceded in death by brothers Eugene, Billy George, JT, and Luther Wilson Jr. Verl, Vernon, and Frank Daugherty. Sisters Florine Farmer, and Willow Dean Tucker.

Survivors:

Wife of 66 years: Grace Marlow Wilson

Sons: Frank (Sonya) of Caryville, Michael (Debbie) of York, SC, Jeffrey (Sonya) of Caryville.

Daughters: Teresa (Joey) Mullinax of York, SC, Charlotte (Tim) Owens of Caryville, Michelle (Jeff) Wright of Caryville.

Brothers: Lowell and Gloyid Daugherty, both of Jacksboro.

Sisters: Odlene Meredith of Stinking Creek, Mary Sue Marlow of Oliver Springs.

8 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Family will receive friends 5-7PM Monday at Cross-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2PM Tuesday at Beech Fork Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Beech Fork Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Rutherford, and Rev. Justin Howard officiating.
