LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – There are areas of black ice on this Tuesday morning. With temperatures this morning in the upper teens to mid 20s, any wet spots on roads will turn to patches of ice.

This will create slippery conditions in some spots, especially on bridges and untreated secondary roads.  Use caution if traveling this morning. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination, and do not assume that a well traveled roadway will be free of snow or black ice. Keep in mind that roads are not only where you’ll likely deal with black ice. Watch your step on sidewalks and parking lots as well.

Another winter weather system will affect the region and Campbell County Thursday night and Friday morning with the possibility of more snowfall accumulations, especially across the higher elevations of east. Thursday night’s low will be a bitter 13 degrees, the coldest night of the season so far. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/04/2022-5AM)
