JACKSBORO, TN – Campbell County Mayor E.L. Morton is saying it best; “Avoid travel until temperatures rise.” Watching out for black ice on roadways and keeping yourself safe and warm top Friday’s list of priorities.

“Don’t get over confident, and that’s easy to do. You’ll be driving along just fine, and all of a sudden, you’re into some black ice,” said Campbell County Road Superintendent Ron Dilbeck. Dilbeck’s advice is that if you can stay home, stay home.

Wind chills around zero and temps between 10 and 15 degrees make for a most dangerously cold start to the day. Skies gradually clear today as temperatures struggle to reach 29 degrees for a high under sunny skies.
