LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A special called meeting convenes Wednesday at city hall at 10am for the City of La Follette.

Representatives from Postmark LaFollette attended the City of La Follette workshop in December and last week’s regular monthly meeting of the city to discuss an opportunity to apply for a Rural Arts Facility Funds grant with $100,000 available in funds. To apply for the grant Postmark would need a long-term lease of five years that stipulates the property must be operated as an arts facility or have ownership of the building.  Representatives were in attendance at last Tuesday’s regular meeting but received no answers.  The request is expected to be discussed at Wednesday’s special called meeting.

In April 2019, an investment grade audit was started for the City of La Follette by Trane,  a manufacturer of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and building management systems and controls.  The council was presented a copy of the audit to review as its workshop ended on the night of Sept. 28, 2021. The mayor and council decided to review the audit and meet with Trane representatives at a later date to discuss next steps.  Trane is the other item on two item agenda for the special called meeting.
