Michelle “Mikki” Vaughn
​passed away surrounded by loved ones in Middlesboro, Kentucky on Sunday, the 16th of January at the age of 62. Mikki will be fondly rembered by all who knew her for her lifelong passions for space, board games, writing and reading, but most importantly, her family. Mikki was both incredibly kind hearted and impressively strong willed. Her memory will forever be touched by her kindness and her fiery spirit, which we all loved her for.

Mikki was born in Bloomington, IN but was well travelled and called the states of Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky,Illinois, Florida and more as home throughout her life. She was especially excited to travel to Roswell, New Mexico last summer with two of her daughters and two grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father Jesse Petro, mother Mable Louise Petro, brother Danniel Petro, and sisters Betty “Sis” Clinton, and Teresa “Teri” Davis.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Aubrey Vaughn Jr, and three daughters, Michelle Cartwright, Sabrina and husband Kirk Latsch, Sierra Vaughn and partner Brett Mitchell, as well as step-son Danny and wife Kelly Vaughn, two grandchildren that she loved with all her heart, Nicholas Pillow and Miranda Latsch, as well as 5 siblings, Patty Hillenburg, Sandee and Ralph Badger, Connie and Aaron Blackwelder, Ron and Sharon Petro, and Debbie and Tom Shupe.

Mikki will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
