David Ray Evans, age 65 of Jacksboro, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his home. He was born on August 7, 1956 to the late Dewey and Mary Ann (Hinkle) Evans. David was a loving husband of 36 years, father, and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved his work, racing cars, and flying his ultra lite.  David also enjoyed playing music and entertaining others and riding his side by side with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Ralph “Will” Evans, Jack Evans, Dewey Evans Jr., and Cameron Evans.

He is survived by his loving wife Fonzie Evans; sons David Ray Evans Jr. and fiancé Seairra Ayers of Jacksboro and Brandon Davis and fiancé Latosha Carroll of Jacksboro; daughters Christy Rae Eldridge of Oak Ridge and Summer Pierce and husband Bill of Florida; brother Wayne Evans and wife Elizabeth of Caryville; sister Dewetta Raye of South Carolina; 7 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank their family, friends, and special sister-in-law Elena Levitt.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 11:00-12:00 PM at Martin Wilson Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow visitation at Evans Cemetery in Caryville with Rev. David Hicks officiating.
