KNOXVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Today, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office joins Campbell County officials to address the county’s spike in fatal crashes.  Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins and Campbell County native Capt. Stacey Heatherly of the Tennessee Highway Patrol are among those who will speak at the meeting.

Members of the Tennessee Highway Safety Office meet the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office for a press event to address Campbell County’s recent spike in fatal traffic crashes.

According to Tennessee’s Integrated Traffic Analysis Network (TITAN), there were 16 fatal traffic crashes in Campbell County last year. In 2020, there was only one. Contributing factors include different forms of driver error that could be prevented with safe driving habits. Speakers will offer traffic safety tips and announce upcoming enforcement efforts to prevent future crashes, injuries, and fatalities.
