FOUNTAIN CITY, TN (WLAF) – Fans traditionally sit near Josh Parker’s broadcast location so they can hear his entertaining shenanigans first hand when he calls a Campbell County basketball game over WLAF, and Karlie Whited was among them from a very young age. That is until this season, because Whited now suits up for the Lady Cougars.

It was January 29, 2016, when Campbell played at Central, and I surprised Josh Parker with a “Cha-Ching” T-shirt. The idea came from Whited, the then Caryville Elementary School basketball player. She loved to hear Parker shout his signature “cha-ching” when Campbell County made a three point shot.

Josh Parker, Voice of the Cougars, will be back behind the mic Friday night at Powell and again Saturday afternoon at Central shouting his signature line of “Cha Ching” for the Cougars and Lady Cougars.

On Saturday afternoon, Whited and her Lady Cougar team will play at Central exactly six-years to the day Parker received the first “Cha-Ching” T-shirt. Campbell fans would love to hear “cha-ching” a lot tomorrow in the district match-up.

Karlie Whited is a third generation basketball player. Her grandfather Carl Rutherford played at La Follette High School and held the school scoring record for nearly a decade while her mom and dad, Emily and Joe Whited, starred at Campbell High.

Broadcast time for live radio, television and internet coverage of Campbell at Central is 1:20pm Saturday over AM 1450 and FM 100.9 WLAF radio. The live telecast will be here over www.1450wlaf.com, WLAF-TV 12, Facebook, YouTube, Roku TV and Amazon Firestick. The Lady Cougars game starts at 1:30pm followed by the Cougars and Central at 3pm.
