Campbell’s Bryson Horton hits the game winning points pushing Campbell past Powell 63-62 on Friday night.

POWELL, TN (WLAF) – When was the last time Campbell County won in back-to-back seasons over the Panthers at Powell? I can’t remember. But who cares? Because the Cougars did it again last night, and that’s all that matters this morning after the Cougars left Hunter Gym on Friday night with a thrilling come from behind victory.

WATCH the dramatic finish HERE on demand as Spencer Boshears drained two free throws with a time out in between, followed by a full court press, a Bryson Horton steal and Horton lay in to give Campbell a 63-62 win.

Zac Brady put up 17 points while Nate Walden saved his best for the second half when he scored all 17 of his markers after halftime. Devin Jones tallied a dozen points followed by eight from Boshears, five from Horton, including the game winner, to go along with four points from John Long.

Campbell is 10 & 9 with a 4 & 3 mark in the district.

Powell won the girls game 67 to 29. Campbell’s Karlie Whited finished with 11 points followed by six from Cora Browning. Three points each came from Emma Brandenburg, Saylor Hutcheson and Carley Kitts. Lady Cougars Alexi Morris and Rachel Cowan posted two points a piece.

The Lady Cougars are 13 & 6 in all games and 4 & 3 in the district.

Campbell travels to Oak Ridge on Tuesday. WLAF’s coverage begins at 6pm over the WLAF – Doyle’s Tire Shop Sports Network. Watch the game live right here via the Lindsay’s Carpet & Paint Center video player.
