LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Changes are in the works for the City of La Follette Regional Planning Commission. Tuesday’s final reading of Ordinance 2201-01 includes membership requirements that any planning member must be a resident within the corporate limits of the City of LaFollette. That clarification means that planning commission member DeWayne Gibson, a non city resident, comes off the commission.

The death of vice-chairman and secretary Ed Wheeler in November, along with Gibson’s vacancy, and former Mayor Mike Stanfield’s ouster from office in December, left three openings on the planning commission.

Mark Hoskins remains the council representative, and Joe Bolinger continues as chairman of the planning commission. Jeff Herrell and Dwight Crutchfield were appointed to the commission, and Mayor Phillip Farmer fills the other vacancy Jeff Duncan is the City’s codes officer.

A new vice-chairman will be voted upon at the next planning commission meeting later this month. A secretary will also be chosen. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/02/2022-6AM)
