LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The LaFollette Municipal Building will soon have card reader door locks. On Tuesday afternoon, the LaFollette City Council approved a bid of $22,810.60 from Howard Home Services of Clinton for the card reader door locks.

Ordinance 2201-01 amending the City of LaFollette Code with respect to zoning and land use control. Section 14-104 states in addition to the membership requirements as set forth in TCA 13-4-101 et seq, it shall also be a requirement for any planning member to be a resident within the corporate limits of the City of LaFollette had its final reading Tuesday’s monthly meeting. Three new members of the planning commission were announced at the meeting. Those members are Jeff Herrell, Dwight Crutchfield and Mark Hoskins.

Ordinance 2022-02 had its first reading. The ordinance levies a four percent privilege tax on any hotel/motel or any place in which rooms, lodging or accommodations are furnished. The following seven ordinances were approved. Resolution 2022-01 authorizes and provides the financing of construction of water facilities project. The project consists of a 12 inch water line through the Cedar Creek area. The project will cost approximately $500,000 and will be done in two phases. Resolution 2022-02 provides for the in lieu of tax payments from LaFollette Utilities, the total cost is $1,705,000. Resolution 2022-03 amending the 2021-22 budget for $2,000 for operating supplies for the police department. Resolution 2022-04 for administrative services and Resolution 2022-05 for engineering services of the Transportation Alternatives Program. Resolution 2022-06 for administrative services and Resolution 2022-07 for engineering services for the Multimodal Access Grant Project. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/02/2022-6AM)
