LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Trouble was just beginning for Leigh Ann Taylor when La Follette Police K-9 Officer Cory Lawson stopped the 2014 Ford XLT she was driving for no lights. Taylor was stopped late Saturday night near South Avenue.

Lawson soon learned the blue Ford was reported stolen out of South Dakota, and that Taylor had a violation of parole. She was arrested along with her passenger, Brandon Louis LeMarr. LeMarr had a warrant for his arrest as well.

When asked if she had anything illegal on her, Taylor allegedly replied that she had a syringe in her bra.

Once inside the Campbell County Jail, corrections officers found a bag of what was believed to be meth inside Taylor’s bra, according to the arrest report from the sheriff’s office. Another bag of the same substance was also located on Taylor.

LeMarr, 37, 510 West Hemlock Street, La Follette, was charged with a capias/bench warrant. Taylor, 49, 112 Garden Lane, La Follette is facing charges of possession of schedule I controlled substance, introduction of contraband into a penal institution and a hold for Knox County for a parole violation.

South Dakota officials notified LPD officers the vehicle was stolen, and LPD dispatch verified the stolen Ford. South Dakota will be pressing charges on Taylor of stolen property, the report said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/08/2022-6AM)
