One firefighter explained that a brush and field fire was triggered after this abandoned house at Grantsboro caught fire Wednesday afternoon.

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – It’s been a day of fires around Campbell County after the day began with the death of three adults in a mobile home fire at Caryville.

It’s been a busy day for firefighters.

Since, the Campbell County Rural Fire Service has fought a brush fire on Cove Pointe followed by a shed fire off Lick Creek. At this hour, the CCRFS and the La Follette Fire Department are fighting a fire at an abandoned house in the Grantsboro Community on Chestnut Stump Road. “From there on Chestnut Stump, a field and the woods caught on fire,” said LFD Chief Jimmy Pack.

Firefighters battled fires on this very windy day.
