Charles Richard “Butch” Cooper, age 78, of the Fairview Community of Whitley County, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday morning, February 15, 2022, at Baptist Health Louisville.

He was born on July 28, 1943, to the late Frank Cooper and Edna Eugene (Jones) Cooper in Jellico, Tennessee.
He was a member of High Cliff Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Teresa Ann Spradlin, Kenny Ray Cooper, and Sheryl Denise Cooper; one sister, Betty Sue Crow; and one brother, Johnny Ray Cooper.

He is survived by his daughter, Lora Cooper, of Waco, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Angela Slover, Kassie Moore, Minerva Atkins, Edgar Quiroz, Charles Cooper, Jasmine Kumaraswamy, Starsha Cardona, Aaron Jimenez, Joshua Bueno, Nicholas Bueno, and Sarah Bueno; several great-grandchildren; brother, E. L. Cooper, and wife, Wanda, of Jellico; devoted friend who provided help and assistance for many years, James Capps; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends, neighbors, cousins, and others to mourn his passing.

Charles’ wishes were to be cremated.  There are presently no services planned.

Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico is in charge of all arrangements.
