LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Construction on the north side of Cross Valley Road continues, and now into the second week, the weather hasn’t been their friend. It started sunny and warm but remember it’s East Tennessee. Since they started we’ve seen sunny days, rain and strong gusty winds, frost and several inches of snow, not mention early morning temps that were in the single digits.

The contractor for the SR-63 widening project in Campbell County has progressed with work on Cross Valley Road and, weather permitting, is hopeful to pave and reopen this road late this week. Upon completion of this work, the contractor will begin work on the next side road, Henson Road. As similar with Cross Valley, the contractor will need to temporarily close this road to allow for grading and paving in this area. As done on Cross Valley Road, work will continuously progress at this location until its completion, and it is anticipated this closure will last approximately 14 days. During this temporary closure, traffic will be detoured to nearby Fincastle Road
