LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Just before 1pm, a Jacksboro bound black Ford Ranger pick up truck ran off the four lane at the entrance to Campbell High. The truck went down a sloping field of grass, leaving no skid marks, and crashed into the edge of a wooded area between the Skyway Bridge and the Campbell High Soccer Field. The Skyway Bridge and railroad tracks are just feet away from the scene.

An airbag did not deploy.

First Responders with the La Follette Fire Department and Campbell County EMS responded along with the La Follette Police Department. The truck came to an uncontrolled rest head on into a tree about a hundred yards from the school driveway.

The truck left the road about here and headed down the slope about a hundred yards before it hit a tree.

The lone occupant, the driver, was brought out of the truck through the passenger side door and carried up the hill to the ambulance. He was alert and answering the questions he was asked by medical personnel.

LFD Captain Dusty Davis follows the injured man up the hill as he is carried on a spine board to the ambulance.

Traffic going toward Jacksboro was slowed some while those headed toward La Follette were backed up for a good ways. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/17/2022-2PM)
