Sunday, a day of emergencies around the county

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Sunday opened the day for emergency responders just before 1:30am with a fatal car wreck on Pinecrest Road.

Later in the morning, a brush fire on Howard Road along with a house fire on McCloud Mountain were reported.

A car flipped on its top on Hwy 25W north of La Follette near the elk viewing turnoff. First Responders with the Caryville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the car wreck while the Campbell County Rural Fire Service remained on the scene of the McCloud Mountain house fire.

A little after 2pm, a person was injured in an ATV wreck on Flat Woods Road near Exit 141 off I-75. That person was transported to the Caryville ball field to meet a med chopper.

Around 5pm, a man using a gas grill was burned at a home on Old Long Hollow Road. He was flown out by a medical helicopter from the La Follette Medical Center. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/27/2022-5PM)
