LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – “We’ve had a substantial gas spill here at the Bread Box Gas Station and Market,” said La Follette Fire Chief Jimmy Pack. The chief adds that a portion of Country Club Road is shutdown as a result, and gasoline has flowed toward town from the Bread Box.

“The Street Department will be here in just a minute to lay down some sand, and then we can get back to a normal traffic pattern on East Central Avenue and Country Club Road,” said Pack.

Country Club Road was temporarily blocked. Crews cleared the scene around 4:15pm.

The Campbell County EMA is on the scene with La Follette Fire and Police and Street Department.

Chief Pack reminds you to never leave your vehicle unattended when you’re getting gasoline. “We had a person pull up, begin fueling their car and then they walked off to the restroom, and the tank overflowed,” said the chief. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/12/2022-3:45PM)
