Ronnie Michael Henderson, age 74 of Jacksboro, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. Ronnie had a strong faith in Jesus, was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. Ronnie was born on February 26, 1948 to Carlos and Genevieve Henderson. Ronnie was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War era and he married the love of his life, Kathy, in 1975 and had three beautiful daughters.

Ronnie was a Deacon and Charter member of Midway Baptist Church. Ronnie loved gospel music and sang with the Gloryland Boys for over 50 years. He loved spending time with his girls. He enjoyed attending church, playing the guitar, and singing with his friends on Friday’s. He also loved cheering on the Vols, trading knives, and watching Andy Griffith. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Genevieve Henderson, Grandparents W.H. and Maggie Queener, John and Minnie Henderson, sister in law Dorothy Rains and husband Bill.

Survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathryn Elaine Henderson of Jacksboro; his three favorite daughters: Misty Michelle Henderson Hill of Jacksboro, Melody Brooke Henderson of Jacksboro, and Megan Elaine Henderson of Knoxville; grandson and his pride and joy, Riley Brooks Hill of Jacksboro; Brother in Christ and life-long friend, Johnny Dabney of Caryville; sister Carlene Young and husband David of LaFollette; sister-in-law, Nancy Bowlin and husband W.H. of Jellico; honorary sister Alice Queener of LaFollette; nephews: Michael Indelicato and Lindsey, Billy Rains, Mark Bowlin and wife Amy, Randy Spradlin and wife Missy; nieces: Lisa Rains, Melissa Indelicato and Joseph, Jenny Bowlin; Great Nephew Winston Roy; great nieces Kaydence and Aubree Indelicato; special family: Keith Fraley, Michael Helton, Kray Vinsant; and a host of other relatives and friends.

To all the members of the Gloryland Boys and those Ronnie sang with through the years, you meant the world to him and brought so much joy to his life.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Lori Wilkerson, NP, Nurse Wynette Kirkland, Dr. Thomas Michael Ayres, his home health team Christy & Vickie and the wonderful nurses at Fort Sanders TCU.

The family will receive friends 4:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Midway Baptist Church, 1745 Old Jacksboro Hwy, LaFollette, TN 37766, with funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Johnny Dabney and Rev. Jimmy Orick officiating. Friends and family will meet at 12:15 PM on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for a 1:00 PM interment. 

In lieu of flowers donations should be sent to Midway Baptist Church.

  2. Ronnie will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was a friend to so many and everyone loved him. We enjoyed hearing him sing at Katies on Friday nights and it was never the same after he had to quit. Now he is singing for Jesus, so rejoice that he is now in a better place and has a new body.
