LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – One person had to be cut out of a car and then airlifted to a Knoxville hospital while another patient was transported by ground ambulance as the result of an afternoon wreck in east La Follette.

At 2:05pm, the call of the collision came in to Central Dispatch sending multiple agencies to the scene near the TDOT office on the Carl Stiner-State Route 63 Highway. Stiner Highway was temporarily shutdown and used as the landing zone (LZ) for the medical helicopter.

A car reportedly came from Carr Wynn Road, across Middlesboro Road and through this field.
The car came to an uncontrolled rest in a concrete culvert.
Two patients were transported from this Sunday afternoon wreck.

Reports coming in to WLAF are that the wreck happened in bizarre fashion with a car coming off Carr Wynn Road, crossing Middlesboro Road-Old Highway 63, traveling through a field before jumping a silt fence and landing in a concrete culvert on the Carl Stiner-State Route 63 Highway.
