LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- An ATV drifting in its lane ended with an arrest on Saturday at 12:05am.  Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Fox noticed a side by side turn off 25W onto the four lane in downtown La Follette and began driving west. Fox noticed a flashing whip light on the rear of the ATV flashing multiple colors. He also saw that the unit was staying inside its lane by drifting back and forth within the lane, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

Fox initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Timothy Glenn Miller and made him aware of the violation. Miller was requested to step out of the ATV for field sobriety testing. He asked if Miller had anything to drink, and he replied he had drunk six beers over the last six hours but did not feel he was intoxicated.

While Fox was explaining a step in the field sobriety test Miller said, “I don’t want to do this one. I don’t feel like anyone can do this test.” He was then asked if he wanted to attempt the test, and Miller said no.

A search of Miller revealed a small glass pipe which the man admitted was used for smoking Marijuana. Fox began searching the side by side where he allegedly found another pipe under the driver’s seat and a small bag containing a leafy green substance believed to be Marijuana in the front passenger door. While searching Fox noted that there were multiple empty beer cans in the back passenger floorboard where another passenger had been seated.

Miller, 42, 6964 Township Line Road, Waynesville, Ohio, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), possession of schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation light law. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/05/2022-6AM)
