LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Postmark LaFollette Arts, Culture and History center is hosting its 5th year of free summer art camp for area youth ages 10 to 18. The camp starts Tuesday, June 28, and ends Thursday, July 28.

This year’s Art form, the Heart Art Camp, consists of five weeks, each week there is a different Art opportunity with a new teacher. Youth can sign up for all five weeks, or individual weekly camps, if that’s all their time allows. We will have space for 20 youth each week. Space is limited. The last day to register is today, June 15.

All sessions are held in the Postmark LaFollette Arts, Culture and History Center located at 119 S. Tennessee Ave, La Follette. Each camp will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week, and a light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The camp starts Tuesday, June 28, and ends Thursday, July 28.

Completed forms can be dropped off at the Center, which is located at 119 South Tennessee Ave., in LaFollette on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They can also be emailed to Julie Van Arsdale, Camp Coordinator, at postmarkartcamp@gmail.com. This year’s five classes are: Week 1, Totally Textile, taught by Artisan Brenda Mathre, Week 2, Poetry in Pottery, taught by Artisan Carol McClain, Week 3 is Charcoal & Pencil, taught by Artisan Jodie Hartman, Week 4 is Watercolors, taught by Artisan Jodi Hartman, and Week 5 is Woodworking Artisan John Polly.

Postmark LaFollette is a collaborative creative place making project to establish and maintain an Arts, Culture and History center within an historic structure to strengthen social and economic opportunities for the public through the Arts.
