LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Firefighters with the La Follette Fire Department answered the call of a transformer on fire soon after 8:30 Thursday morning.

“The fire on the transformer was short-lived, but it did catch some of the grass below on fire,” said Eddie Hatmaker, Assistant Chief for LFD.

Some grass caught fire as a result from a transformer fire.

The fire was in the 1000 block of West Chestnut Street right behind the former Poor Boy’s Restaurant on South Avenue.

  1. Looking at that not to last picture, I’m not surprised there was a fire. There’s a lot of dead vines up there. It’s good they got the fire out before it spread to something else.
