LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Roger and Myra Jackson’s big 18-wheeler is going to sit still until it’s filled. The Jackson family is providing manpower and the use of its truck to haul much needed supplies to Southeast Kentucky.

Juanita Blankenship of Jacksboro dropped off cases of water and gallons of water.

It’s been an all hands on deck day at the Community Trust Bank Wier Woods/Jacksboro office. Car, van and truck after car, van and truck have driven up to have their donations loaded into the trailer of the big rig.

Bleach is among the much needed supplies.

Water is the most needed item with others not too far behind like garbage bags, personal hygiene items, monetary donations, cleaning supplies, especially bleach. Items are being boxed and labeled before they are put on the truck.

Roger Jackson came back from an overnight run to Nashville and started helping to fill his own rig.

“We’re working through churches and schools with folks we know on the ground there, and that way we know that everyone’s donation is going to those who need it and will use it,” said Rhonda Longmire, Market President for Community Trust Bank.
