LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – The September Sobriety Checkpoint conducted by the Tennessee Highway Patrol in Campbell County is set. It’ll be where North Indiana and North Tennessee Avenues meet at the Leo Lobertini Bridge in La Follette.

Troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who are driving impaired/driving under the influence in the State of Tennessee. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found Sobriety Checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing DUI laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

  1. This doesn’t make any sense at all. It’s like cops telling a thief don’t break into this store tonight because we’re going to be there and catch you.

    1. They have to tell when they are having them. Its a constitutional law that requires them to announce it or it’s considered entrapment.

  2. Most people planning on getting messed up and driving around tonight don’t really read the news much anyways I’d say…
