LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Customers Folks began lining up for their Starbucks fix as soon as it opened on Monday morning inside the La Follette Food City.

This latest Starbucks-Food City partnership marks the 39th. It’s Food City run with its own team, a dozen new baristas and associates, under the direction of Starbucks, according to Food City officials.

“Thank you for bringing Starbucks to La Follette, Tennessee, and we appreciate the quality operation you brought here,” said Rob Woodson, owner of Woodson Mall, to the team of Food City corporate executives on hand for Monday’s celebration.

The addition of the Starbucks was about a four week process that began three months back. The construction began on July 5, and it was finished in two weeks followed by two weeks of training.

Food City La Follette Manager Shain Arnold expressed his excitement for the community and the jobs Food City is adding. “I’m just excited,” said Arnold.

“This has been an incredible experience; learning about coffee and what you can do,” said Jessica Marlow, the manager of the Starbucks. How food helps with the taste of the coffee is something else Marlow learned during her training.

Starbucks is open everyday from 6am until 8pm. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/02/2022-6AM)
