LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brandon Gross was performing a welfare check on Pleasant Ridge Rd when he found a woman slumped over the wheel of a black Honda Civic. Gross woke the woman up and asked her to step out of the car, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

The woman allegedly had a clear baggie with a powdery white substance in it believed to be Heroin in her right hand and an open hypodermic needle in her lap. Deputy Justin Phillips arrived to assist Gross, and he searched the vehicle and did the welfare check at the residence. Philips told Gross there were 12 hypodermic needles found in the bags during the search allegedly belonging to the woman, along with three Suboxone strips.

The woman, identified as Jessica Lynn Morgan, reported she did not have a prescription for the Suboxone strips. Another white bag was searched at this point where a digital scale was found.

Morgan, 33, 1527 Long Hollow Rd, LaFollette was charged with possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Based on jail records, this was Morgan’s 47th arrest. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/04/2022-6AM)
