JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – It was the final tune-up before the regular season schedule begins on Friday, August 19, for the Campbell County Cougars. Coach Justin Price’s 12th edition of Cougar Football hosted Halls on Tuesday evening.

The game comes after scrimmages at Webb and South-Doyle.

Twelfth year head coach Justin Price directs his team.

“We did some things really well against Halls on offense, defense and special teams. We still need to continue to improve in some areas to reach our potential,” said Price.

The “Voice of the Cougars” was on hand for the scrimmage as Les Martin was most impressed with the swarming Cougar defense. “Oh, I loved the way they pursued the ball. Will Lester’s 54-yard touchdown run was quite a thrill,” said Martin.

Landon Hensley catches a snap.

The regular season kicks off at home this year as Chattanooga Central visits. Les Martin and Brent Allen return for their 12th season of calling all the action of Campbell Football. Martin has called the most Cougar wins ever and is anxious for the 2022 season to begin. Allen is the father of former Cougar greats Slayton Allen and C.J. Allen.
