LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – You may have passed this location many times and never knew what it was. It’s located on North Indiana Avenue directly across from where the Leo Lobertini Bridge connects North Tennessee Avenue to North Indiana Avenue.

This quarry provided the rock used for all the L.C, I & R projects. In the picture you can see the temple loading L.C, I & R train cars. This is just a part of the Lafollette Coal, Iron and Railway Co. history. Today this property is privately owned just like Glen Oaks (The Lafollette House).

  1. I love the pictures from an era that no longer exists in Campbell County. Thank you for remembering the past and reminding many how Campbell County use to be.
