LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The quarterly food give-a-way hosted by the La Follette Church of God is Sat. Dec. 16 starting at 9am and lasting until all the food is gone. The church has food that will be distributed, according to Pastor Michael Dent, who said it is “first come, first served.”

This includes canned goods, boxed goods, bagged goods, everything you’ll need to prepare a Christmas meal and more. Dent said the hope is to serve hundreds of Campbell County families with this give-a-way.

The LaFollette Church of God has been conducting quarterly food give-a-ways for more than four years. The church purchases the food from the Second Harvest Food Bank in order to hold these give-a-ways and help their local community. These purchases are made possible through church contributions, and both internal and external donations.

Through this program, the church provides around 12,000 meals per year to Campbell Countians.

“It’s an outreach that’s so important right now and we’re blessed to be able to give back,” Dent said.

Participants are asked to park in the church parking lot and then come into the church to register. There will be church volunteers on site to help load.

The distribution location is the La Follette Church of God at 1906 Jacksboro Pike, across from Campbell High School. Photo ID is required for registration.

  1. What if you need the food, but don’t have a vehicle.???
I desperately need the food. I also try to feed people that is hungry, need a shower or clean clothes. Not much but the folks do feel better . Thank you all. It’s a blessing to be about to help someone.

    1. Thank you for your response, Mary.

Folks are allowed to pick up for themselves and two others. All they need to do is have that person’s ID with them when they pick up for someone else.

      Best,
