LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Once the home of Mitchell & Rogers Body Shop and 24 hour Towing Service, this building and lot are now the parking lot for L.U.B. at the corner of North Tennessee Avenue and Aspen Street. The business was owned by O.E. Mitchell and Joe Rogers.

During its day, Mitchell & Rogers was the king of towing in this area, and they had the largest fleet of tow trucks that included two large scale, for that time period, tow trucks. In this image you see Tiny, and they also had Granny that was much larger than Tiny used mostly for accidents involving very large trucks.

The area behind where the trucks are parked was the impound lot, and when there was a bad accident people would go by and look at the vehicles involved. During that time, there was no fence around the lot. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/25/2022-6AM)
