JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – The East Tennessee Development District under contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has prepared a county wide transportation plan for Campbell County.  The plan includes Campbell County and the municipalities of Caryville, Jacksboro, Jellico and LaFollette.

The plan includes state routes and local roads (minor collectors) in TDOT’s functional classification system.  The plan discusses deficiencies in the existing state routes and local roads and recommends improvements to these deficient roadways.  The plan also discusses needed multimodal facilities for pedestrians and bikers.

A summary of this plan will be presented on September 6, 2022, at 5:30pm, at the Jellico City Hall.  This public meeting will be held just prior to the regularly scheduled Jellico Planning Commission meeting.  Local officials and citizens from Campbell County, Caryville, Jacksboro, Jellico and LaFollette are invited to attend.
