James Lee “Jim” Cole, age 69 of LaFollette, departed this life on Monday, August 29, 2022. He was born April 2, 1953 in LaFollette to the late Robert Lee (R.L.) and Nina (Humphrey) Cole. Jim was an adventure seeker and fearless flyer, who loved flying and hang-gliding. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and had the biggest heart that would help anyone he could. Jim loved being a jokester, pestering people, and was always the life of the party. He was a very talented artist and the creator of the infamous “Campbell County Dragon” at the Caryville exit.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Becky Wilson and brother, Kenny Cole.

Jim is survived by his wife, Amy Cooper of LaFollette; daughter, April Wyrick of Knoxville; granddaughter, Micala Greenwood; brothers, Robert, Daryl, Jeff, and Brian Cole all of LaFollette; sisters, Gail Nance of Georgia, Chig Brady of Caryville, Jackie Holbrook of Kentucky, Beverly Laws of LaFollette, and Karen Hock of Texas; several nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 4:00 PM at The Back Door Cafe behind Woodson’s Mall in LaFollette, and everyone is welcome to attend.
