JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Heavy black smoke was coming out of a home just off Eagle Bluff Road when First Responders arrived on the scene at 7:28am, according to officials with Central Dispatch.

An elderly male was first brought out of the home on Hope Weir Lane. Soon after, an elderly female was rescued from the burning frame structure, based on reports.

Two people were rescued from this burning home around 7:30am.

The woman was airlifted by a medical helicopter from the field at Jacksboro Middle School around 8am. One official described her burns as being over 95% of her body and that she was responding well to First Responders. WLAF News has learned from an official on the scene that the woman died not long after arriving at a Knoxville hospital.
