This Chevrolet Corvette hit a telephone pole and flipped on its top Monday evening on Demory Road, according to officials.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – One person was injured in a single-vehicle wreck Monday evening, and, as a result, a section of Demory Road was shutdown for an extended amount of time.

The call of the accident came in to Central Dispatch at 6:25pm with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service, EMS and sheriff’s office responding along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Upon arrival, officials say they found one car on its top, a snapped telephone pole and lines down.

One patient was transported to the La Follette Medical Center.

Demory Road, between West High Knob Road and South High Knob Road, was closed off to traffic for an extended amount of time. Crews with AT&T had to replace the pole and put the lines back up. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/06/2022-6AM)

  1. Anyone keeping track on the number of one car accidents in the County or are there just too many to count?

  2. I live on Church Rd off of Demory Rd… My comment would be: Demory Rd is the worst rd I have every diving on!!!! There are people going off the road all the time. People drift over the line going around the corners (they are driving on the other side of the road into on coming traffic). This is because they are going to fast!!! People drive 50, 60 mph. They will pass you if you drive the speed limit and they tail gate if you drive 40 mph. I try to pull over and let them go by, but there is not many places to pull over. In the past 3 days there has been two accidents. There was a accident on Demory road Sunday morning when I was going to Walmart and on my way home driving around the cliff area up from the boat ramp this bright blue car came around the corner on my side of the road. This has happened to me more then once…. The Country Sheriff department needs to set up Radar Traps to slow these people down!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Excessive speed and using it as a weapon is wrong! Please be considerate toward other drivers! Be good! Someone you love could lose their life because of careless ignorance!
