LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – In this Throwback Thursday photo, Lafollette Physician J.W. Presley is having some fun with the photographer in front of the Lafollette Hospital on South Tennessee Avenue back in the late 1940s.

  1. Dr. Presley was the doctor that delivered me and that is the hospital where I was born. It’s ironic how doctors used to smoke back then. I barely remember him growing up in LaFollette, but I always heard he was a great doctor.

  2. CORRECTED SPELLING

Mom still talks about Doc Presley fondly. He delivered her at her Papaw’s house and was her doc growing up. “Never been a doctor as good as Doc Presley. Never been a doctor as good to me as old Doc Presley.” Mom’s pushing 88, now.
