Homer Hollis Burchfield, Jr., age 68, of Jacksboro passed away Friday, September 9, 2022. He was saved and of the Baptist Faith, avid token and coal scrip collector and antique car enthusiast. He was a retired machinist having worked at Furtex for 23 years. He was preceded in death by parents: Homer Hollis Burchfield Sr. and mother Aline Scalf Burchfield.

Survived by:

Sister: Hazel Burchfield and Larry Kidwell

Uncle: Ruben Lafayette Burchfield Jr. and wife Sharia

Aunts: Betty Nantz, Nelda Adcock and husband David, and Billie Jean Gray

Several cousins and other relatives and friends

Special friends: Phillip Robinson and Keith Jordan

Family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 4 PM in Cross-Smith Chapel, Rev. Steve Elkins officiating. Interment to follow service at Nelson Cemetery.

  1. I knew Homer when he was just a young boy when I would spend the night with Hazel. I am sorry to hear of his death.

  2. Homer will be sadly missed and he was a great friend of mine. He and his mom always wanted me to help them when paying there property taxes.
