TOP PHOTO: It was a scary ride down a La Follette sidewalk for a South Carolina couple on Wednesday afternoon and even scarier for those running to safety.

The car was also damaged front, back and around.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A car that veered off East Central Avenue then traveling down the sidewalk in Downtown La Follette sent folks scurrying for safety around 5:30 Wednesday afternoon. Watch the accident develop HERE from one of the camera angles from the Ben Rogers Building Camera Network.

Smith Hardware suffered the brunt of the damage while Merrydeath Antiques is also dealing with damage.

No one was injured though there was damage left in the wake of the white Nissan Rogue. The car, with South Carolina tags, was driven by an elderly man with a female passenger who were said to be in town for a wedding.
