WHITE OAK, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – A meeting was held late last week at the White Oak School Gym as residents and leaders gathered to seek a solution to the beaver and dam problem plaguing the community. Beavers have built multiple dams creating major problems with water flow.

It was said that actually, the beavers are the problem in White Oak, not ones you want to leave anything to, except a pile of dead brush in your back yard you wanted removed.

The meeting was conducted by David Marlow who has property in the area.  It was attended by State Representative Dennis Powers, Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch and several county commissioners, school board members and community members.  Rep. Powers said, “We will follow up with TDEC to see if there are any grants available to help fund the $8,000 per year it will cost to tear down the dams and for the continuous maintenance and removal of the beavers from the area.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/06/2022-6AM)
